2017-2018 Franklin ECC Registration Information – New Families




Melrose Public Schools invites families of age eligible students

 (3 or 4 by Sept. 1, 2017) to participate in the following events:


Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 – 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. or
Friday, January 13th, 2017 – 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Franklin Early Childhood Center, 16 Franklin Street

Open House Information: The Director of the Franklin Early Childhood Center will give an overview of the quality educational offerings available to students, discuss the registration process and answer any questions. Parents will then have the opportunity to view classrooms and talk directly to teachers of programs they are interested in for their child.

PRE-REGISTRATION:  On-line pre-registration will open at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 13th and close at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22nd. .

Why pre-register? Pre-registering will expedite your visit during the registration process. All pre-registered families must attend a registration session listed below. If you do not have access to a computer to complete the on-line registration, paper packets will be available at the Early Childhood Center beginning at noon on Friday, January 15th.

Monday, February 6th, 2017 – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School cafeteria, 350 Lynn Fells Parkway

Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 – 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Franklin Early Childhood Center

Friday, February 10th, 2017 – 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Franklin Early Childhood Center


Registration for all programs is ongoing provided space is available.


Requirements for the Franklin ECC:  Must be 3 or 4 years of age by September 1, 2017 AND attend registration to provide a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee.  Additionally, you must bring the ECC On-line Registration Confirmation Page, which is sent to you via email after you have completed the on-line registration process. NOTE:  If you missed the on-line registration please print out and complete the ECC paper registration form found at http://melroseschools.com/families/student-registration/ and click on “new family registration”. If you completed the online registration you do not need to complete a paper registration form.

All families must bring the following documents:

  • Confidential Health and Emergency Information Form (click here to print)
  • Development History – 2 pages (click here to print)
  • Home Language Survey (click here to print)
  • Authorized Student Release Form (click here to print)
  • Birth Certificate (Original document with seal must be presented.) We will make a copy for our file and return the original back to you.
  • Current physical exam, including immunizations. (Must be within 12 months of the start of school.
